Web3 Decentralized PBN Links

This page is going to discuss the potential new SEO uses of web3-oriented links to achieve a goal sought by those who operate in the current web 2.0 environment: higher search engine rankings. In essence, the question is can one create a web3 (decentralized) private blog network; or can one at least buy web3 decentralized PBN links?

Before going into that topic, here is a quick overview of the problems with regular PBNs:

One of the biggest risks which many people face when using a typical private blog network (PBN) is looking spammy and/or leaving a footprint to the search engines. These pages often look fabricated, have no traffic, share multiple easy-to-find footprints, and otherwise look like that they are designed to “game the system”. Common footprints (as detailed in much more depth in this article) can include:

  • SOA records
  • All of the websites have the same registrar
  • The websites all have similar CMS platforms such as WordPress-only
  • They all share roughly the same amount of word-length, how far into the article the link(s) is placed in the content, etc.
  • Many have over-optimized anchor text instead of a more natural-looking anchor text footprint
  • Most of the PBN links people purchase have few safeguards as to the quality of the website to which the link(s) is pointing
  • Same Class-C IP address
  • Many have the “footprint” of hiding the links from SEO tools’ crawlers like AHREFS or SEMRush
  • Etc.

What Are Web3 Links And How Can They Help Current Search Engine Rankings Like A Normal SEO PBN Network?

Great question!

Before answering that question, let’s start with the types of typical PBN links which you either may build or purchase from a third party to boost your search engine rankings:

  • Expired domains with high authority and good backlink history. These often get built into traditional blogs and used with articles (hand written or now with AI tools) and links added
  • Web 2.0 properties (Weebly, WordPress.com, etc.) often get built up with Tier 2 backlinks, and then the branded (or niche-focused) web 2.0 property becomes a de-facto PBN
  • Some social profiles which can get crawled by the SERPs also work such as Tumblr and others
  • Cloud HTML or “bucket” sites including Microsoft Azure HTML pages, Amazon S3 pages, and other sites including those tied to GitHub repositories
  • Niche edits and link insertions, in essence, become their own “PBN” depending on the degree of control
  • Google properties like Google Sites “stacked” with other Google entities like MyMaps, Blogger, and more can become a sort of PBN
  • Expired domains which have authoritative content often get rebuilt using the SEO Wayback Machine strategy. Links then can get changed out from the original content’s links, and used as a modified PBN network
  • Several other methods

However, in this case, the web3 links have nothing to do with any of those. They all have real world intention to receive traffic on their own, to varying degrees.

Do These Web3 Links Require That I Buy Cryptocurrency Or Have Some Kind Of VR Headset Or Other Accessories?

Absolutely not!

While much of this is still in testing mode, there are at least 20 link types which are all “web3” in nature, yet they have normal “web 2.0” capabilities of getting crawled, indexed, and recognized by the search engines.

These links have been in testing mode for over a year from the time of this page being created. Many of the web3 links are still pending if they get indexed, recognized as a backlink in AHREFS, and if they can help push up your landing page’s SERP rankings and/or rank on their own in the SERPs. However, there finally are some favorable results which many SEO agencies and SEO consultants have overlooked.

The reasons are many. Depending on the web3 link type, they require varying degrees of experience & expertise with the following topics:

  • Using a crypto/NFT wallet
  • Understanding IPFS and decentralized hosting platforms
  • An in-depth understanding of localized virtual real estate platforms, especially to power up local SEO rankings
  • Web3 TLDs and SLDs along with web3 decentralized websites
  • Decentralized website hosting
  • Decentralized versions of Linktr.ee
  • Which kinds of links get indexed and crawled for by NFT platforms specific to those who are being rewarded for attending events (physical or online events) versus non-event-based NFT platforms
  • Metaverse platforms
  • Augmented Reality (A.R.) at the hyper-localized level which generates traffic, or can be manipulated by CTR tools
  • Much more

Why Should I Care About A Decentralized Web3 PBN Link Network Or Even Individual Web3 PBN Links?

Several reasons. These can include:

  • Having completely different link types to mix up your link footprint
  • Getting possible real world traffic to click onto your link (or at least the content) out of curiosity, depending on the platform
  • Some of these platforms permit minting content (text, image, audio, or short video) as a NFT and possibly monetizing your content — even if the monetization is just in the form of receiving a crypto token for future use
  • No domain or web hosting renewal fees (!!) in many cases
  • Can leverage your existing images and other content
  • Adding “fun” to real world people for your PBN, especially in virtual real estate and metaverse platforms
  • Additional revenue streams can get built into some of these web3 platforms
  • Some are now proven, finally, to move the needle favorably in the search engines
  • Some of these web3 platforms generate links & content which can rank on their own in the SERPs for lower-competition keywords

The above reasons also don’t account for other factors like extra co-posting of content to other platforms which can get indexed, future web3-focused search engines, reaching different audiences with your content and much more.

There even soon will be decentralized social media where new decentralized web3 digital identity content, in the form of a web3 domain, will allow people to access the platform. People soon will be able to send & receive crypto payments with these web3 digital identities via browser extensions, using easy-to-remember names instead of the long cryptocurrency wallet addresses (subject to confusion and loss of funds).
